Time multiplexing super-resolved imaging without a priori knowledge of the spatial distribution of the encoding structured illumination
2021
Time multiplexing is a super-resolution technique that sacrifices time to overcome the resolution reduction obtained because of diffraction. There are many super resolution methods based on time multiplexing, but all of them require a priori knowledge of the time changing encoding mask, which is projected on the object and used to encode and decode the high-resolution information. In this paper, we present a time multiplexing technique that does not require the a priori knowledge on the projected encoding mask. First, the theoretical concept of the technique is demonstrated; then, numerical simulations and experimental results are presented.
A posteriori estimates for the stationary Stokes problem in exterior domains
2020
This paper is concerned with the analysis of the inf-sup condition arising in the stationary Stokes problem in exterior domains and applications to the derivation of computable bounds for the distance between the exact solution of the exterior Stokes problem and a certain approximation (which may be of a rather general form). In the first part, guaranteed bounds are deduced for the constant in the stability lemma associated with the exterior domain. These bounds depend only on known constants and the stability constant related to bounded domains that arise after suitable truncations of the unbounded domains. The lemma in question implies computable estimates of the distance to the set of di…

A Data Association Algorithm for People Re-Identification in Photo Sequences
2010
In this paper, a new system is presented to support the user in the face annotation task. Every time a photo sequence becomes available, the system analyses it to detect and cluster faces in set corresponding to the same person. We propose to model the problem of people re-identification in photos as a data association problem. In this way, the system takes advantage from the assumption that each person can appear at most once in each photo. We propose a fully automated method for grouping facial images, the method does not require any initialization neither a priori knowledge of the number of persons that are in the photo sequence. We compare the results obtained with our method and with s…
Maximal regularity via reverse Hölder inequalities for elliptic systems of n-Laplace type involving measures
2008
In this note, we consider the regularity of solutions of the nonlinear elliptic systems of n-Laplacian type involving measures, and prove that the gradients of the solutions are in the weak Lebesgue space Ln,∞. We also obtain the a priori global and local estimates for the Ln,∞-norm of the gradients of the solutions without using BMO-estimates. The proofs are based on a new lemma on the higher integrability of functions.
Segmentation Integrating Texture and Shape A Priori Applied to Cardiac MR Images
2017
International audience; Cardiovascular diseases are the first cause of death worldwide. Early and accurate diagnosisof cardiovascular diseases plays an important role in improving life of population afflicted heartdiseases. Delayed Enhencement Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DE-MRI) is a highly valuablebut non-specific imaging technique that is ancillary in the diagnosis of a variety of myocardialdiseases. This papper presents a novel segmentation technique of DE-MRI based on watershedand region growing algorithm with application of myocardium shape.
Remote Photoplethysmography measurement using constrained ICA
2017
Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a technique that consists in estimating physiological parameters such as heart rate from live or recorded video sequences taken by conventional camera or even webcams. This technique is increasingly used in many application fields thanks to its simplicity and affordability. The basic idea is that the arterial blood flow shows regularity due to the heartbeat. This regularity is manifested by very small periodic variations in the color of the skin, which can be isolated and quantified by signal and image processing methods. In this context, Independent Component Analysis (ICA) is largely used to separate the signal due to arterial flow from signals from o…
Functional A Posteriori Error Estimates for Time-Periodic Parabolic Optimal Control Problems
2015
This article is devoted to the a posteriori error analysis of multiharmonic finite element approximations to distributed optimal control problems with time-periodic state equations of parabolic type. We derive a posteriori estimates of the functional type, which are easily computable and provide guaranteed upper bounds for the state and co-state errors as well as for the cost functional. These theoretical results are confirmed by several numerical tests that show high efficiency of the a posteriori error bounds. peerReviewed
A comparison of different optimization algorithms for retrieving aerosol optical depths from satellite data: an example of using a dual-angle algorit…
2011
Optimization techniques are often used in remote sensing retrieval of surface or atmospheric parameters. Nevertheless, different algorithms may exhibit different performances for the same optimization problem. Comparison of some classic optimization approaches in this article aims to select the best method for retrieving aerosol opacity, or even for other parameters, from remotely sensed data. Eight frequently used optimization algorithms were evaluated using both simulated data and actual AATSR advanced along track scanning radiometer data. Several typical land cover types and aerosol opacity levels were also considered in the simulations to make the tests more representative. It was obser…
Modelling analysis of centroid curves of olfactory habituation in humans
2020
Indexation en cours.; International audience; Previously published experiments established the time-course of olfactory habituation in humans, and extracted 3 centroid curves from clustering analysis that reflected high, middle and low habituation. The aim of the current theoretical study was to further analyse these previous experimental data by developing a mathematical modelling analysis designed for fitting the 3 curves from a general equation. After adjusting equation parameters for each curve, fitting equation outcomes on experimental data yielded high correlation coefficients of 0.9997 – 0.9995 – 0.9962, respectively. A model-based interpretation of olfactory-habituation centroid cur…
